Do Bans In CS:GO Carry Over To CS2?

To begin with, we should first explain what VAC is. Valve anti-cheat is a sophisticated system that is there to preserve the integrity of CS2. This means that VAC severely punishes cheaters who often spoil the atmosphere during the game. You should know that cheating does not pay off in the long-term because you get a permanent vac ban (oh no!)

Most CS2 servers are under the VAC, which means that any violation of your game experience will be adequately monitored and taken into account. However non VAC servers are not penalized.

You can play CS2 despite the VAC-ban but only on non-VAC servers. The number of servers available to you are very small, which means that you will have to create a private server and set it as a non-VAC server. This still gives you the opportunity to enjoy the magic of CS2 with your friends even though you earned a VAC ban in CS:GO.

If VAC detects that you cheated, you get a permanent ban that can only be lifted if you prove to Valve that you are innocent of the cheating accusations.

The consequences of a VAC ban are severe for your playing career, because not only will you be banned from accessing VAC servers in all games on Steam, but the reputation of your profile will be significantly damaged. There are two types of vac bans: game-specific bans and global bans.

Valve can also hand you a global ban. It can happen that when you cheat in one single game, it can cause a chain reaction, with additional bans across the other games that use the same engine. 

From then on, your activities in your Steam library will be very limited. You will be disabled from using Steam Family Sharing without the possibility of a refund. In addition to this, you will not be able to transfer everything you have acquired on a banned account to another account. The consequences are harsh, but they need to be, as Valve takes cheating very seriously.

Despite VAC being a highly efficient system, it is possible that you earn a false ban in CS2 and that you initially experience all the sanctions mentioned above, so the next step would be to  seek a reversal of the sanctions through Steam Support and present all the evidence that would show that you have been falsely accused, you can do this in a few steps:

1. Articulate your case with clarity, backing your claims with any evidence.
2. Provide any additional information that may help support your case.
3. Be patient and persistent in your communication with Steam Support.

You will not be able to access VAC servers, but you can create a private non-VAC server and have fun there with your friends despite being disabled from playing in competitive mode. 

You can set up a non-VAC server by following these steps:

1. Buy a hosting and install Windows Server
2. Establish a remote connection to the server
3. Download SteamCMD and unpack it
4. Run the SteamCMD file to install it
5. Launch SteamCMD
6. Input login your-username and hit Enter and follow the login instructions (use your Steam username)
7. Input the force_install_dir C:\cs2-server command to create the directory for CS2
8. Input the app_update 730 validate command
9. Configure the server.cf as necessary with your preferred game mode and other settings
10. Create a shortcut for srcds.exe and place it in the CS2 directory
11. Right-click on the shortcut, click on “Properties” and find the “Target” field
12. Input the -insecure command

Yes, you can create a new account in CS2 despite being banned in CS:GO, but it’s not that easy. However, there is a likelihood that you will be spotted by the VAC for a multi account and penalized again. Before opening a new account, we strongly recommend that you do the following:

1. Uninstall all the cheats from your computer 
2. Clean your hard drive 
3. Use new email and phone number 
4. Learn from your mistakes

Uninstalling cheats may not be enough and you could potentially risk getting banned again. That’s why you need to do one more step and clean your hard drive. Due to the sophistication of the Valve system, it can recognize that you have used cheats even though you have uninstalled the programs. 

By formatting the hard drive, all data related to the cheat will be deleted, so you will be able to start a new adventure without worry.

To create a new account, you will need a new email, as well as a new phone number, as the VAC systems will recognise its usage from previous accounts.
