Funniest Moments In Counter-Strike History

The pro scene in Counter-Strike, especially CS: GO has created some of the craziest and most iconic moments in the game, from s1mple jumping from heaven and landing two noscopes on Krimz and dennis to Cadian’s 1v4 clutch against Gambit.

But, it’s not always about the Ace play or the 1v3 clutch. There are also funny moments that we simply can’t forget.

So, let’s have a look at some Counter Strike Global Offensive funny moments.

We can’t make a list of the Counter Strike Global Offensive funny moments without mentioning someone falling off Vertigo. Unfortunately for our Danish “Tom Cruise”, we’ve decided to add his fall to the list.

This was during the DreamHack Masters Winter 2020, dev1ce was holding B with an AWP against Liquid’s T side. He misses one flick, panics, and jumps to the side only to find out that there’s no solid ground under his feet anymore and falls off Vertigo. For extra funny points, he throws a molotov upwards while falling.

Fortunately, this didn’t really affect Astralis as they won 2-0 against Liquid that day.

During the StarSeries i-League Season 4, ropz was either on edge that day or just laser-focused. The scenario is a 10-9 score on Train for Cloud9 and Mousesports decided to save. With only, suNny and ropz alive, they’re walking around in B halls and showers, clearing angles.

Unfortunately, ropz clears an angle a bit too well and headshots suNny without a second thought. Both the players and casters were so confused, but it was a hilarious betrayal.

Luckily, Mouseports went on to win Train and the series against C9.

Everyone loves ninja defuses, except for the loser. because it might be the most embarrassing thing that can happen to you in CS.

Well, imagine how it feels when it happens to you during a big event like IEM Chicago 18. Astralis were on map (Nuke) point, a North finally secured a clean round to put the score at 15-4. But, Xyp9x had a different plan in mind.

He went from T spawn, into lobby, down vent, and ran straight onto the bomb and defused it with practically no resistance from North. This was incredibly embarrassing for the team, but hilarious for the viewers.

Ninja defuses are becoming less and less frequent because pro players are becoming more aware of such possibilities, but that doesn’t stop S1mple from doing it.

During the BLAST Premier Global Final 2020, S1mple hid in church on Inferno while 4 players were on B and slowly started pushing on B, hunting the CTs. S1mple timed everything perfectly, got out of church, and ran to the bomb. Complexity heard it, but it was already too late and gave Navi their first round on the map.

This one is a bit sad, but still funny considering just how important that one deagle shot was.

This was during the PGL Major in Stockholm in 2021 on Nuke. G2 were in a force buy round but in the lead 15-12 against NAVI. In the chaos, it somehow got down to a 2vs2 and G2 already planted the bomb on A.

Niko got a huge flank on timing by climbing ladder into heaven, he spots S1mple on top of hut with his back turned, Niko lines up the headshot with the deagle and misses 3 times only for S1mple to turn around and hit him with the AWP.

That one shot could’ve closed the map and they would’ve gone on to play Mirage as the decider. Unfortunately, NAVI pulled out a huge comeback, went into overtime, and won Nuke with a 22-19 score line and the Major with it. We won’t forget this hilarious, but tragic situation soon.

This has to be one of the funniest moments ever in CS: GO history. We’ve seen great aimers whiff their shots, and good teams forgetting to check corners to prevent a ninja defuse, but never a professional team forgetting to defuse the bomb. That’s on another level.

This was during the group stages of the StarLadder Major in Berlin in 2019. A BO1, so the mistake didn’t cost G2 a whole lot, but it was still a mistake that probably hurt a lot. Here’s the scenario.

The score is 15 to 7 for Astralis and G2, both teams have a full-buy and G2 quickly gets all 5 kills after Astralis planted the bomb on B. However, even with 4 alive on G2, no one was close to B for some reason. At one point G2 realized this and every player started running towards B, but it was too late.

The bomb went off and Astralis got a freebie of a round and the map as well. The series ended with huge laughs from the Astralis side and the casters as well. Definitely one of the funniest moments in CS history.
