Guide On CS2 Knife Commands
Intro
There are a lot of things to like about CS:GO. The competitive nature, the gunplay, the movement, the ranking system, the pro scene, and many, many other factors. But, one thing Counter-Strike is different from FPS is just how important skins really are, especially knife skins.
Of course, people like skins because they’re highly valued, so getting an expensive skin from a case can be a treat, but the skin community generally likes them for their aesthetics, not their value. Running around on Dust 2 with a Falchion Knife is infinitely cooler than running with the default T knife.
So, if you’re looking to get yourself a new knife or you just want to check them out, here’s a detailed guide for all CS:GO knife commands. We also covered CS2 commands as well as they’re a bit different from CS2.
Setting Up A Server
Before you can input any commands in CS:GO or CS2, you will first need to set up a server. Here’s what you need to do:
Start CS.
Head into Play and select the Practice tab.
From there, you can choose any game mode, but the best setup is probably Competitive.
Choose any map you like and hit “GO”. If you’re on CS2, enable the “Infinite Warmup” option on the left.
Once you are in-game, open the console type “sv_cheats 1” and then type “mp_drop_knife_enable true”
With that, you’re now set up to use a CS:GO knife command to check out any knife you want.

Community Inspect Servers
Commands in CS:GO and CS2 can only take you so far! They only allow you to see the different knives, but not the various skins they come from. For example, if you want to see a Ruby Bowie Knife or a Karambit Marble Fade with a 412 pattern, you can’t do that with commands.
So, if you want to check out specific skins for any knife and weapons as well, you can use community inspect servers. However, you will need skin generator codes for these servers. You can find these codes through various websites like CS-Gencode or CS2Inspects or you can craft them yourself, but it’s easier if you use the online generators.
Here you can select which knife you want to inspect, the skin, the pattern, and wear. Once you input all the necessary values, copy the code and paste it into the server chat and you will instantly get the knife you wanted to check out.
FAQ
Can I Use CS:GO Knife Commands To Check Out Knife Skins?
Unfortunately, it is still impossible to check out specific knife skins with just a console command in CS:GO or CS2. Most people usually use the “Inspect in Game” feature from Steam or use community servers that allow you to inspect every skin on the market.
Can I Use A CS:GO Knife Command In Matchmaking?
No, you can’t use knife commands in competitive matchmaking, Premier, or FaceIt. You need a server in which cheats are enabled, that’s why it is best to host your own server and type in “sv_cheats 1” in the console.
Is It Safe To Use CS:GO Knife Commands?
Yes, it is completely safe to use commands in the developer console to check out different skins. You can practically use any CS command you want safely as long as you are in your own practice server or in a community server.
Conclusion
Counter-Strike non-default knives are very expensive especially if they have a skin applied. They get even more expensive if they are “Factory New” or some rare pattern. In fact, the rare Marble Fade patterns get up to several thousand dollars.
Thankfully, you now have these CS:GO knife commands you can use to check out the knife before you make a purchase. You wouldn’t want to spend hundreds of dollars and end up with a knife with inspect animations you don’t even like!
Finally, if any new knives or knife-related commands are added into CS2, we’ll be sure to add them to this guide.
