How Many Drops Do You Get From Prime Per Week in CS2/CSGO?

If you’re here it’s because you’re interested in becoming a Prime player, but first you want to know how many free drops you’ll get per week. Fair deal. This is why we have created this guide, to answer the following questions:

How many drops can you get from Prime per week?
What types of freebies can you claim thanks to Prime?
What requirements must you meet to be eligible for the weekly Prime drop?
Can you get more drops from Prime in CS2?

Without anything more to add, let’s answer the first question.
1

You Can Only Get 1 Drop Per Week

In short, you can claim the Weekly Prime Drop once per week. This is how CS2 works nowadays, so the old days of getting random drops post-match are over. All you can do now is claim the weekly Prime drop once and that’s it. Whatever you choose from the Care Package will be added to your inventory instantly.

If you have read it’s possible to get more drops, it’s disinformation. Plain and simple. Since the game was updated to CS2, all the other random post-match drops were removed and replaced with the Weekly Care Package, only available for Prime subscribers.

Now that it’s clear that you can only get 1 drop per week, let’s see what contents you’ll find inside this exclusive benefit.

2

Contents of the Weekly CSGO Prime Drop

The Weekly CSGO Prime Drop will offer you the following options, from which you can claim two:

  • [2] CS:GO Graffiti
  • [1] CS:GO Case
  • [1] CS:GO Skin

For example, you can choose one case and one skin, which is the best possible combination, as it can bring you the highest ROI, especially if you’re lucky and you get a case from the Rare Drop pool.

Although graffiti is available, we recommend you to stay clear from it, because they hold little to no value.

So, let’s analyze the two most valuable contents from the Cara Package: the skin and the cases.

About the Free Prime Skin

The Weekly Care Package puts at your disposal a random skin from any of the following collections:

  • The Bank Collection
  • The Italy Collection
  • The Lake Collection
  • The Safehouse Collection
  • The Train Collection
  • The Dust 2 Collection
  • The 2018 Nuke Collection
  • The 2018 Inferno Collection

You need to know that no skin from these collections will make you a millionaire, but you can at least earn a few hundred dollars if you’re lucky – here you have some of the most valuable skins drops you can get thanks to the Prime care package:

  • Dual Berettas | Cobalt Quartz: $1,200+
  • SG 553 | Integrale: $1,000+
  • AWP | Pit Viper: $500+
  • Dual Berettas | Twin Turbo: $250+
  • SSG 08 | Acid Fade: $230+

Of course, if you want to get a skin with such a price, they must have a low float value and be of Souvenir quality, otherwise their value will take a deep dive.

For example, the Dual Berettas | Cobalt Quartz can cost more than $1,200 if they’re Factory New and Souvenir, but if they’re standard and Battle Tested, you’ll barely obtain a couple of bucks.

The same happens for all the other free skins from the Prime drop. It works just like case opening, where luck is the main factor that will decide whether you get a small fortune, or just another common skin you can sell for a few cents or bucks.

We recommend claiming a free skin because you won’t have to spend money on a key, and they’re added automatically to your inventory. You can use, trade, sell or even gamble it – the choice is yours. And the best part, it’s completely free.

About the Free Prime Drop Cases

The case you will get will be determined by the Drop Pool, which is divided in two categories: Prime Cases (99% drop chance) and Rare Cases (1% drop chance).

Here you have all the Prime Cases you can claim thanks to the Weekly Prime Drops:

  • Kilowatt Case
  • Revolution Case
  • Recoil Case
  • Dreams & Nightmares Case
  • Fracture Case

If you claim the Weekly Care Package 100 times, you’ll get any of these cases 99 times. Hence they’re not as scarce, and it’s reflected in the fact that you can find thousands of available listings for these CS2 cases.

However, these cases can still drop pretty valuable skins such as the Sport Gloves | Vice ($17,000+), Sport Gloves | Slingshot ($6,000+) and the Butterfly Knife | Gamma Doppler ($2,600+). As you can see, it’s still possible to get valuable and exotic skins thanks to the Prime Cases from the Prime drop, and hence why it’s worth it to buy the Prime subscription.

Now, let’s check the Rare Cases, the most elusive options from the Drop Pool:

  • Snakebite Case
  • Prisma 2 Case
  • CS20 Case
  • Prisma Case
  • Danger Zone Case
  • Horizon Case
  • Clutch Case
  • Spectrum 2 Case
  • Operation Hydra Case
  • Spectrum Case
  • Glove Case
  • Gamma 2 Case
  • Gamma Case
  • Chroma 3 Case
  • Operation Wildfire Case
  • Revolver Case
  • Shadow Case
  • Falchion Case
  • Chroma 2 Case
  • Chroma Case
  • Operation Vanguard Weapon Case
  • Operation Breakout Weapon Case
  • Huntsman Weapon Case
  • Operation Phoenix Weapon Case
  • CS:GO Weapon Case 3
  • Winter Offensive Weapon Case
  • CS:GO Weapon Case 2
  • Operation Bravo Case
  • CS:GO Weapon Case

These are less probable to get, and hence they’re more valuable in comparison to the Prime Cases. For example, the CS:GO Weapon Case can be sold for over $100, as it’s one of the most scarce and thus most expensive cases in CS2 and CS:GO.

And when it comes to the contents of the cases, you’ll find an outstanding variety of highly valuable skins – here you have the best examples:

  • Karambit Case Hardened (Blue Gem Pattern Seed), which can cost as high as $1,500,000 USD, making it the #1 most expensive CSGO skin in existence
  • AK-47 Case Hardened (Blue Gem Pattern Seed), which can cost over $1,000,000 USD, making it one of the most valuable skins in CS2
  • Sport Gloves | Pandora’s Box, the rarest pair of gloves in the market, with an outstanding price of over $40,000

You can unlock many other highly valuable skins by opening the cases from the Rare Drop Pool, and all you need to do is to become Prime-drop eligible and hope for the best that you can get any of these cases for free within the week.

Does the Prime Free Case Also Include a Free Key?

No, the Prime free drop doesn’t include a free key in case you choose the weekly free case. You’ll have to buy it on the Steam Marketplace, or your favorite third-party trading site or marketplace. This is a downside in our opinion, because it will force you to spend $2.5 on a key to open the case.

This is why many players decide to sell the cases directly, without bothering on opening them. They just list them on Steam or their preferred marketplace, to make a quick profit. This is something you need to consider as well, so you can see if you really want to open the cases, or if you’re better off just selling them.

Are Graffiti from the Prime Package Really Worthless?

Yes, in our opinion graffiti is worthless and a waste of time when choosing the gifts from your weekly care package. You can claim a few just for the sake of redeeming them, but in terms of ROI, they’re not a good choice, because most of them are valued at only $0.01 to $0.03, and if you’re very lucky, you’ll get graffiti worth $0.08 to $0.10. And as you can easily guess, it’s not a good business move, especially when you can claim a case and a free skin and get a much better return.

For example, the cheapest case you can get thanks to Prime Weekly Care will be worth at least $0.13, and the least valuable skin will range from $0.05 to $0.10, so you’re getting back $0.18 to $0.23 as a bare minimum. Whereas graffiti will cost just $0.01 to $0.03 in the majority of situations. So, the best choice is clear.

By now, you’re fully aware of how many Prime drops you can get, what exactly the Weekly Care Package contains, and a complete overview on the Prime Drop Pools.

So, now it’s time to talk about the requirements you must meet to be eligible to claim a Prime Drop in CS2, so you can start stocking up your inventory with new cases and skins for free.

Eligibility Criteria for the Prime Drops in CS:GO (CS2)

To be eligible to claim the Prime drops, formally known as the Weekly Care Package, you must meet the following requirements, so you can start claiming free cases and skins every week.

You Must Be a Prime Player

This is the first and most important requirement to fulfill: you must buy the Prime subscription. And no, there’s no way to become Prime for free. It used to be possible by leveling up to LVL 21, or by simply owning the game when Prime was released, but nowadays you must pay $14.99 one time to obtain the subscription.

Once you pay $14.99, congratulations. You’ll become Prime instantly, and you’ll get access to exclusive benefits such as the Prime weekly drop and a better match making experience, because you’ll be only playing with other Prime users, which drastically reduces your chances of dealing with cheaters and toxic users.

If you’d like to learn more about Prime in CS2 (CS:GO), you can find more articles talking about this subscription on our blog.

You Must Level Up Your Account Within the Week

After buying the Prime subscription, you must play the game long enough to accumulate 5,000 XP, which will allow you to level up your account, and you must do it before the Prime drop timer resets. For example, if you’re level 7, you’d need to level up to level 8 to claim the free Prime drop.

It’s time to make it clear that accumulating more XP won’t make you eligible for more drops within the same. As we have seen, it’s only possible to claim the Weekly Care Package once, and there’s no way to change it, unfortunately.

It’s also important to mention you can only qualify for the Prime drop if you play on the official servers, otherwise it won’t count towards accumulating the necessary XP to level up and claim the care package.

If you’d like to learn more about levels and ranks, you can find all the information about it on our blog. You’ll learn the ins and outs of the levels and ranking system in CS2.

You Shouldn’t Have Already Claimed a Drop

You can get a Prime drop once per week, so if you have already claimed, that’s it. You won’t get another until the CS2 prime drop timer resets, which will happen every Wednesday at 1 AM (GMT).

For example, if you manage to level up on Friday, you’ll have to wait until next Wednesday to claim your free Prime Drop. On the other hand, if you level on Tuesday, you only have to wait until Wednesday to claim the Prime drop again, and then it all resets, bringing you 7 days to level up and claim the drop again.

4

Is It Possible to Get More Drops?

No, it’s not possible to get more drops from Prime. Back in the days of CS:GO, players had the opportunity to redeem up to 2 free cases per week, at the end of matches played on the official servers. This system was kept in place until Valve decided to replace it with the Prime drop system, which only allows you to claim 1 case, 1 free skins or 2 free graffiti per week.

Unfortunately, Valve hasn’t released news in regards to editing or replacing this system, and we believe they won’t change it in a long time. Because it’s a strong incentive to convince players to buy the Prime subscription, we’re sure they will keep running this drop system for a very long time.

5

Conclusion

In a nutshell, you can get only one drop from Prime per week, and you have to choose two prizes from a pool consisting of 1 free case, 1 free skin and 2 free graffiti. And since now you know how to you can claim these drops, and what to expect, go ahead and start claiming your CS2 freebies right now.
