How To Mute Players In CS2/CSGO
Introduction
Desperate times call for desperate measures, such as the CSGO toggle voice option. The only choice left for a chance at securing that win might just be muting the culprit and going full try-hard mode. That being said, let’s take a look at how to mute people in CS:GO effectively, and enjoy a distraction-free match.
Mute CS:GO Players Via The Communication Settings
This is by far the simplest method to cut any communications from unknown players. However keep in mind, by using this option you are not able to mute a particular player, but rather a whole team. Here’s how to mute in CS:GO through the communication settings and get some peace of mind:
- Launch CS:GO and open Settings in the main menu.
- Click on Game and make your way to the Communications tab.
- Choose whether you want to mute your team, the enemy team, or both.
Mute CS:GO Players Via The Scoreboard
Muting all players is not the smartest choice in most cases. Instead, you can use the scoreboard to mute specific players that are hindering your gameplay. This is how to mute players on CS:GO through the scoreboard:
- While in-game, open up the scoreboard by tapping the TAB key.
- Right click on your mouse to freely scroll through the scoreboard.
- Left-click on the player that you want to mute, and select Block Communication.
Mute CS:GO Players Via The Console
If you want to mute all players’ voice chat but allow text while in-game, the console is your best bet. Let’s have a look at how to enter the command:
- Press the tilde (~) key to open up the console.
- Type in voice_enable 0 and hit the Enter key.
- To turn voice chat back on, type voice_enable 1 in the console and tap Enter.
