List of All CS2 Operations

For all types of players, Counter-Strike has always been an exciting game on its own. There's Competitive and now even Premier for the serious ones. There includes Deathmatch and Casual modes for infrequent gamers, and Wingman mode is for those who can't imagine playing without their closest friend. But what if you want to elevate the whole encounter to a higher plane? Now we have CS:GO Operations.

List of All CS Operations

There have been 11 Operations in the history of Counter-Strike, all released in Global Offensive. As of June 2024, there is still no information as to when the first-ever Counter-Strike 2 Operation will take place.

2

Operation Payback

The one that started it all. On April 25, 2013, Operation Payback—the first of its kind—was initiated. Although it is the most basic of the group, it provided a useful yardstick for future success when CS:GO was still getting started. Seven additional maps—Downtown, Motel, Museum, Thunder, Favela, Library, and Seaside—came with the $6 item. It debuted the first Operation Coin, which came in three tiers: Bronze, Silver, and Gold, and ran until August 31, 2013. One merely needed to play for an aggregate of ten hours to obtain the Silver version and fifty to obtain the Gold one, as opposed to needing to accomplish objectives to earn a better, flashier coin.

3

Operation Bravo

Taking what Payback started a step further, Operation Bravo was the first to introduce a brand-new case: the Operation Bravo Case, which contained the fabled AK-47 | Fire Serpent. It was available from September 19, 2013, until February 5, 2014, and access to the whole collection only cost $6. The sole modification to the coin’s principle was the increase of the Silver Coin’s hour requirement from 10 to 30. Operation Bravo had three maps: Overpass, Cache, and Cobblestone. Of these, three are currently part of the Active Duty map pool, with Overpass continuing to be part of the competitive rotation.

4

Operation Phoenix

During the peak of CS:GO, Operation Phoenix was the least busy and least expensive of the three operations. Eight maps including the Operation Phoenix Case, which is now regarded as one of the most famous in the game, were included with the $3 price tag. It’s reasonable to say that Operation Phoenix has had an impact on the Counter-Strike community with skins like the AWP | Asiimov, which Kenny “kennyS” Schrub popularized as his “Magic Stick.

5

Operation Breakout

One of the pivotal moments in the history of both the CS:GO franchise and its Operation feature was the fourth installment. It debuted three new collections and the Operation Breakout Case between July 1, 2014, and October 2, 2014. During Breakout, the Operation Journal was unveiled, and the Operation Coin was redesigned to include the feature it now has: you may improve the coin by doing missions. The Cobblestone Collection, arguably the most famous map collection ever, was shown during Operation Breakout and gave rise to the AWP | Dragon Lore, which is today regarded as one of the most sought-after and well-liked skins one may ever possess.

6

Operation Vanguard

For the first time, Operation Vanguard introduced the idea of accumulating Stars to redeem incentives. In that time, the Operation Vanguard Case and the maps Backalley, Workout, Bazaar, Facade, Marquis, Season, and Train were introduced to the game. After it was discovered that one of the skins, the M4A4 | Griffin, violated plagiarism laws by using stolen art, its creators recreated it.

7

Operation Bloodhound

With the Guardian game mode, which puts actual people against AI opponents, Operation Bloodhound introduced something that resembles a campaign-style mode. It had six maps, six collections, the Operation Bloodhound Case, and the Falchion Case. It lasted from May 26, 2015, until September 30, 2015. During the Operation Bloodhound season, new skins were added to the game, including the AUG | Akihabara Accept, the AWP | Medusa, and the AK-47 | Aquamarine Revenge.

8

Operation Wildfire

Operation Wildfire, which took place in 2016 between February 17 and July 16, was the sole operation for CS:GO. It retained the traditional $6 pricing point and included both the upgraded global version of Nuke and the Operation Wildfire Case. Considering its predecessors, it is maybe one of the most boring operations in Global Offensive, although Valve would quickly surpass it with the next one.

9

Operation Hydra

The final CS:GO operation with a flat $6 pricing for all of its content was Operation Hydra. In yet another advancement update from Valve, maps were switched around and the Operation Coin attained the Diamond tier for the first time. Not all that came from this was the Operation Hydra case; Operation Hydra also marked the debut of the now-famous Wingman game variant, which has persisted as a mainstay even in Counter-Strike 2.

10

Operation Shattered Web

After an extended dry spell, Operation Shattered Web was published two years after Hydra. It spanned the COVID-19 period of CS:GO and included a ton of stuff. It ran from November 19, 2019 to March 30, 2020. During this period, three new collections and Agents—a distinct type of skin that users may buy to alter the appearance of their in-game avatar—were distributed, along with the Shattered Web case. The Battle Pass idea was also initially presented in Shattered Web, and it has persisted to this day. Its price increased to $15 from $6, more than twice the amount that was previously charged.

11

Operation Broken Fang

Operation Broken Fang, which ran from December 3, 2020, to March 31, 2021, was implemented just as the world pandemic was reaching its peak. It still cost $15, but it included updated maps, stickers, graffiti, patches, and even the Broken Fang case. Agents and individual cases were among the several incentives available in the Operation Store, where Battle Pass stars could now be swapped for.

12

Operation Riptide

The most recent operation since Counter-Strike: Global Offensive’s debut was Operation Riptide, the last of its sort. It took place between September 22, 2021, and February 22, 2022, therefore it has been more than two years after the operation ended. The Train 2021 Collection, the Riptide Case, the Dust 2 2021 Collection, the Mirage 2021 Collection, and the Vertigo 2021 Collection were included. Along with maintaining the Operation Store concept—which allows anybody to exchange their earned Stars for rewards—it also included the other bells and whistles that Broken Fang had added.
