Introduction

Talented community members have begun creating workshop maps that are downloadable by anyone on Steam for free. These workshop maps serve different purposes, such as helping players train their aim, optimize their settings, and enjoy fun games.

In this article, we’ll take some time to appreciate some of the best Counter-Strike maps available in the Steam Workshop.

Best CS2 Workshop Maps For Aim Training

One of the primary purposes players download workshop maps is to elevate their game by improving their aim. These aim training maps were catered to helping players practice their shooting with custom features.

Aim Botz

The first map on the list is Aim Botz, one of the most popular workshop maps created by Mr. uLLeticaL. This map has been in the Counter-Strike scene for the longest time, and has been optimized to suit Counter-Strike 2.

On the Aim Botz map, you will spawn in the middle of a 360° bot arena. In the center, you will have access to a lot of different buttons that will give you any weapon you would like, as well as change the game settings to suit what you’re looking to practice.

You can shrink the map by disabling different sections and adjust bot settings to have them start strafing or give them armor. You can also spawn boxes and walls to help you peek at enemy players standing behind cover.

Recoil Master

The next map on the list is another masterpiece made by Mr. uLLeticaL called Recoil Master. As the name already hints, this map is all about helping you become an expert in the spray control of various Counter-Strike weapons.

Unlike Aim Botz, you will be spawned in an indoor facility. There is a big board where you will spray your weapon on, and there are also a bunch of customization buttons to help you change your weapons and game settings.

The coolest part about this map is the “ghosthair” feature, which is a dot that follows the spray pattern of a weapon seamlessly. You can keep following the ghosthair and you will have perfect spray control if you can pull it off correctly.

CSStats Training Map

Another prominent aim training map is the CSStats Training Map, which was created by tournament organizers ESL and some other very talented workshop map creators. It is an outdoor aiming arena which has a beautiful background of nature.

The design isn’t the only thing great about this map, as you are also greeted with a bunch of settings to change bot behavior and create obstacles to practice your shooting. There are different bot modes including:

  • Range: Where all bots stand still and the map becomes a firing range.
  • Rush: Where all bots begin running at you and you must mow them down.
  • Shuffle: Where all bots start strafing left and right to become difficult targets.

There are also a bunch of boxes and wooden walls around the shooting area, helping you practice shooting at enemy players standing behind cover. You can download the CSStats Training Map here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3070389038

Best CS2 Workshop Maps To Customize Settings

To become a good Counter-Strike player, one must spend time tweaking their in-game settings to find the perfect customizations for their crosshair and viewmodel. Fortunately, this process has been made easier by workshop maps!

Crashz’ Crosshair Generator v4

The first settings-related map we’ll feature is Crashz’ Crosshair Generator Map, which is one of the most useful Counter-Strike maps in the entire workshop. Seriously, you are missing out if you have never tried this map at all.

This map is your one-stop map to customize everything about your crosshair. There are so many useful buttons that allow you to change every aspect of your crosshair in an instant. From its length, thickness, gap, outline, dot, and follow recoil, you name it.

There is also a wall filled with updated crosshairs of the top professional players in the world, as well as content creators such as YouTubers and streamers. You can immediately test your new crosshair in the training zone also included in the map. 10/10.

Crashz’ Viewmodel Generator

Another incredibly useful map by Crashz’ is his Viewmodel Generator map, which allows players to craft the most-fitting viewmodel for themselves. You will be spawned in a gorgeous sky setting, with a board filled with viewmodel-related buttons at your service.

Similar to the Crosshair Generator map, you can start playing with all the different viewmodel settings to test what customizations suit you the most. There is also a board with a bunch of preset viewmodels used by prominent content creators in the Counter-Strike scene.

Once you are done changing your viewmodel settings, you can turn around and appreciate the beautiful sky. It is the perfect background to take a few screenshots with your favorite skin as well!

CS2 FPS Benchmark

Aside from crosshairs and viewmodels, there is also a helpful workshop map called the CS2 FPS Benchmark map. You can already tell that it is a map made to help players test their FPS performance when playing Counter-Strike.

When you load into this map, you will be taken to a journey in spectator mode when you will see molotovs spreading, grenades exploding, smoke grenades on your screen, and blindness from flashbangs. All of this is to test how strong your computer is when running the game.

The idea is to change your video settings to increase your frames, and then go back to this map to see if your FPS actually increased or not. All the chaotic grenades are purposely thrown to test if your game can still function properly during hectic rounds.

Best CS2 Workshop Maps For 1v1s

Workshop maps can also help friend groups settle the score against each other. If your friend has been talking a lot of smack, and you think you’re better than him, the only way to find out is to play a real 1v1

aim_redline

The aim_redline map is a classic 1v1 map that has been used by professional players for years. It is a very simple and plain map with boxes of varying sizes scattered around the playing field. These boxes are used to take cover, simulating a real-game situation.

There are free AK-47s and M4A4s lying on the floor, so you will have no excuse about the map favoring the Terrorist or Counter-Terrorist side, the playing field is totally even! There are also ramps to help you gain elevated advantages and catch your opponent off guard.

Overall, the aim_redline map is a very basic 1v1 map without too much design. However, most players enjoy it for its simplicity and functionality.

aim_crashz_dust_1on1

If aim_redline doesn’t suit your taste, maybe Crashz’ 1v1 map will. The aim_crashz_dust_1on1 is a 1v1 map inspired by the design of iconic Counter-Strike maps, Dust and Dust II. You can see that all the walls, architecture, and boxes are based on what you would normally see on Dust II.

There are more obstacles on this map compared to aim_redline, which can help you sneak up on your opponents and catch them by surprise. This makes it important for both players to train their spatial awareness and not get caught off guard.

You will also engage in longer-ranged duels compared to aim_redline, which puts heavier emphasis on precision and aiming at tiny heads.
