What is a CS2 collection?
A collection is a themed set of Counter-Strike 2 weapon finishes that share an origin — usually a case, a map's souvenir drops, or a special release. Every skin belongs to exactly one collection, and collections determine which skins can be combined in trade-up contracts.
How are collections different from cases?
A case is the container you open; a collection is the pool of skins tied to a theme. Many cases map to a single collection, but souvenir and older map collections exist without a modern case. Trade-ups are calculated within a collection, not within a case.
How do trade-ups work with collections?
A trade-up contract takes ten skins of the same rarity from one or more collections and returns a single skin one rarity tier higher, drawn from the same collection(s). Knowing a collection's rarity ladder is essential for planning profitable trade-ups.
