Why does CS2 run at fewer frames than CS:GO did?
CS2 is built on the Source 2 engine, which demands more from both GPU and CPU than the original Source engine behind CS:GO. The baseline hardware requirements are higher as a result. Valve continues to ship performance improvements with major patches, so the gap narrows over time.
